Hi, I’m Dawson Lloyd
Dawson Lloyd (he/him) is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary performer, choreographer, educator, and videographer. As a queer dance artist, he draws from lived experience to inform his work and connect with the community. His choreography includes the full-length show Hope (2024) and works featured at Dance Ontario DanceWeekend, Fall for Dance North, Nuit Blanche, and more. He also creates dance films, including Bibliophile and Alien Superstar.
Dawson is the founder of Impetus Movement Dance Company, known for contemporary and fusion works performed across Ontario. He has danced in works by Hannah Kiel, Gadfly, Jera Wolfe, Merce Cunningham, and Christina Digiuseppe.
A dedicated educator, Dawson teaches at Studio North and The Underground Dance Centre, and runs pre-professional programs for emerging artists. He advocates for queer visibility and inclusive, safe spaces in dance.
